Guy Lahaie
Photographer, artist, night-sky enthusiast — and lifelong observer.
It all began with a Kodak Brownie, a gift from my parents at a very young age. That early introduction sparked a curiosity. It wasn't until later in life, after I retired, that this curiosity grew into a passion for capturing the world through the lens of a camera.
My passion really grew during the four years I was stationed with my wife in Germany. That's where I picked up my very own Pentax ME Super 35mm camera, and it marked a real turning point — opening up new opportunities for creative expression, with the chance to travel and photograph across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Throughout two careers spanning four decades, I made time to travel whenever I could — across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas — soaking in the diverse landscapes and cultures I encountered along the way. My lens immortalized the beauty of the world surrounding me.
Retirement brought newfound freedom — a chance to dive into photography with a Nikon D750, later joined by a D850, and explore new horizons with greater precision. My portfolio now spans a wide range of subjects, from rural and urban landscapes to wildlife, and a growing exploration of the night sky — from the Milky Way to star trails.
To me, every photograph tells a story, infused with emotion, adventure, and wonder at our world. I hope you find in them a glimpse of that same endless beauty.
